What does a used forklift cost? The tables below are worked out from the equipment forktrucks.com member dealers have listed for sale over the last two years, so they show what dealers are actually asking, not a list price or a guess. Typical is the middle asking price; the smaller figures are the range the middle half of listings fell in. Prices are pounds sterling, excluding VAT, as listed.

Use them to sanity-check a quote, to decide between hire and purchase, or to judge an offer for a truck you are selling. Then request a quote for the truck you actually need, or ask a dealer if you are not sure what that is. Each equipment type links to the current listings.

A dash means too few listings of that kind to give a fair figure. Figures are rounded to the nearest £50 and refreshed daily; last refreshed 10 September 2026. Every listing counts once whatever its status, and a listing without a price is left out.

What moves a used forklift price

• Hours, not just age. Two trucks of the same year can differ by thousands of hours. A low-hour truck from a single-shift site is worth more than the table suggests; a three-shift truck is worth less.
• Battery condition on electric trucks. A new traction battery can be a third of the value of an older truck, so ask when it was fitted and whether it holds a full shift.
• Mast and attachments. A triplex mast with full free lift, sideshift, fork positioners or a clamp all add to the price, and a bare duplex mast takes it down.
• What is included. A dealer price usually covers a service, a Thorough Examination and a short warranty; a private sale usually covers none of those. Delivery is normally extra.
• Hire instead. For a job of a few months, or an uncertain one, a hire truck avoids the purchase altogether. The quote form takes hire terms as well as budgets.
